His number is 42-42-564—shini-shini-koroshi, which means die-die-kill in Japanese. He's known for his signature "Direct Noggin Shinigami Chop," a move that works exactly as ridiculous as it sounds: a giant, flat, four-fingered hand shoots out from his robes and smacks you. It's funny and it actually hits hard.
Death the Scythe is constantly on his case about Maka and her training, which he has to deal with regularly. He loosens up noticeably around his son, Death the Kid—fans often note that he's genuinely proud of Kid's three white stripes, which he'll bring up without prompting.
His soul wavelength is so massive it blankets the entire Death City.
