Shigeo Kageyama—better known as "Mob"—is the main character of Mob Psycho 100. He works as an assistant under Arataka Reigen and recently joined the Body Improvement Club.
Mob figured out early on that his psychic powers are tied directly to his emotions. When he gets really upset or angry, his powers spike dangerously, and he's hurt people without meaning to. He hates that about himself, so he's become obsessed with keeping his feelings locked down and staying as emotionally neutral as possible.
Socially, he's pretty awkward. He can't read a room to save his life, which means he doesn't have many friends. But despite his isolation, Mob is genuinely compassionate—he's kind, forgiving, and always willing to help people out when he can.
One of his core beliefs is that he shouldn't use his psychic abilities against other people, period. He also refuses to accept the idea that having these powers makes him better than anyone else, or that he actually needs them to live a normal life. This conviction puts him at odds with a lot of people around him, but he sticks to it anyway.
