Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama is an eighth-grader with serious psychic powers. He's learned to keep them under wraps though—they're way too destructive and obvious to use openly. To stay sharp with his abilities, he works for Arataka Reigen, a con artist esper who's basically using Mob as his meal ticket. Mob spends his days helping Reigen exorcise spirits, but his real goal is simpler: he wants to impress Tsubomi Takane, his childhood friend. He's trying to become someone worthy of her attention. Problem is, life keeps throwing stuff at him, and all those bottled-up emotions are starting to crack. Eventually something's gotta give, and nobody knows how bad things will get when he finally snaps.
