A magic knight who lost to Asta during their entrance exam. He originally befriended Asta thinking he'd found an easy target—someone magically incompetent he could use to show off his supposedly superior powers. That plan didn't exactly work out.
As a magic knight, he's constantly complaining about how rough his squad has it, stuck doing tedious busywork day in and day out. He runs into Asta's group while gambling with an old woman on the black market, and naturally tries to impress the women around Asta. Things go sideways when he ends up chasing a burglar and gets stabbed in the foot with a paralysis knife. Convinced he's about to die, he tries to pass his life's ambition on to Asta before realizing the injury isn't nearly as bad as he thought.
