"Shark Cutter" Bastille is a Marine vice admiral known for his distinctive appearance—a gray metal mask with fourteen eye-holes (reduced to ten in the anime pre-timeskip) and two curved bull horns. His long orange hair drapes down his chest and back. Like other high-ranking Marine officers, he dresses in a formal double-breasted suit with a blue shirt, black tie, and military overcoat slung across his shoulders, complete with a chain at the neck. Back when he was younger, both his hair and the horns on his mask were noticeably shorter, and his mask featured only twelve eye-holes.
Bastille tends to be critical of junior officers he sees as acting without thinking. He's also got a speech quirk—he has a habit of ending sentences with "-dara."
