Garitta was the sixth generation cutter of the Gigas Cedar before handing off the job to Eugeo and Kirito. By the time he passed the torch, he was an old man—deeply lined face, white mustache, the whole package—but he carried himself with a straight spine and sharp, alert eyes. Before Eugeo and Kirito left Rulid Village to head to Centoria and rescue Alice, Garitta gave them a parting gift: instructions on how to cut a branch from the Gigas Cedar that could be forged into a sword by his friend Sadore. Eugeo thanked him, and the two set off on their mission.
