Birthdate: 468 R.C. (777 U.C.)
Hildegard von Mariendorf—known as Hilda—is one of the series' most important characters and best known as Chief Advisor to the New Galactic Fleet. She stands out as a rare figure in aristocratic society: independent-minded and genuinely interested in politics, history, and reading rather than the typical pursuits expected of noble daughters. Her mother died when she was young, but her father Count Franz von Mariendorf, who was progressive for his time, encouraged her unconventional interests rather than stifle them.
When civil war broke out in 797 U.C. between the old nobility and Reinhard von Lohengramm's rising military faction, Hilda persuaded her father to back Reinhard. That choice introduced her to him directly, and she made an immediate impression with her sharp political mind. After Reinhard won the conflict and consolidated power, Hilda became his chief secretary and played a major role in the sweeping reforms that followed.
From 798 to 800 U.C., she was deeply involved in imperial governance, consistently offering sound advice on both policy and military strategy. Reinhard clearly valued her judgment and trusted her completely. During Operation Ragnarök—the empire's major campaign against the Alliance—Hilda served as a staff officer and made history as the first woman ever allowed aboard the flagship Brünhild. She'd come a long way from the unconventional girl of the nobility.
