Albireo Ima used to run with Nagi back in the day. He showed up at the Mahora school festival tournament pretending to be someone called Ku:Nel Sanders, flying mostly under the radar until he spotted Asuna—at which point Evangeline immediately clocked him. Turns out he knows a lot about where Nagi's been hiding, and he's got the inside scoop on Asuna's past too, the stuff she can't remember.
The guy's a bit of a pervert, honestly. He gets a real kick out of making Evangeline dress up in ridiculous costumes, which tells you something about his personality. Like Nagi, he's clever and manipulative in a way that's almost admirable if it wasn't so annoying. He's basically one of Evangeline's two natural enemies—the other being Nagi himself—and he loves nothing more than getting under her skin with verbal jabs. He even calls her "Kitty," which she probably hates.
Magic-wise, Albireo specializes in gravity spells.
What's wild is that he's got his own Pactio card, making him both a serious mage and a Minister Magi. His artifact is a set of books with a bookmark that lets him transform into anyone and steal their abilities. Right now his contract is with Nagi, but he's been through at least ten other partnerships over the years. All of those past contractors are dead, which raises some uncomfortable questions about how that arrangement worked out.
