Bellemere is best known as Nami and Nojiko's adoptive mother, appearing in flashbacks during the Arlong arc. She's a former Marine who found the two girls orphaned in the ruins of a war-torn town and made the decision to leave the military behind to raise them. Tired of the constant death and destruction that came with Marine life, she chose instead to build a peaceful home with Nojiko and Nami as her daughters.
