Hanagata is one of the best centers in Kanagawa, a player who combines strength with smart basketball—he's hard to shut down defensively. When Fujima sits, he steps into a leadership role and gets the team fired up, making him a reliable guy for Shoyo. He's known for his fadeaway, a shot that's nearly impossible to block.
He mostly holds his own against Akagi in the Shohoku matchup, but Sakuragi is a different story entirely—the guy dominates him on the boards. Despite his size, Hanagata's surprisingly agile and takes over scoring duties when Fujima's off the court. He knows how to get his teammates involved too.
