In futuristic Japan, the Sibyl System digitizes and analyzes human souls to design perfect lives for citizens while predicting their criminal potential—their "Psycho-Pass." Despite this supposedly flawless system, crimes still happen, and the Ministry of Welfare's Public Safety Bureau has to deal with them. To keep up with the workload, the Bureau recruits Enforcers: criminals whose Psycho-Pass is too corrupted to be trusted alone. They work under Inspectors—people the system actually trusts—and use special guns called Dominators that measure a person's Psycho-Pass to take down offenders. Akane Tsunemori is one of the few people the system trusts enough to become an Inspector. Assigned to Division 01's Criminal Investigation Division, she's got an unshakeable sense of justice that keeps her Psycho-Pass clean no matter what. But early on, she runs into something that shouldn't exist: a criminal with the Psycho-Pass of a completely righteous person.
