Haruto, a young man from Earth, dies before he can reunite with his childhood friend who vanished five years earlier. Rio, a boy living in poverty in another world, has spent his life consumed by a desire for revenge—his mother was murdered right in front of him when he was just five years old. Through some inexplicable force, Haruto's memories and personality are transferred into Rio's body. As the two consciousnesses struggle to coexist and merge, Rio (or maybe Haruto now?) decides to embrace this bizarre new reality and keep living. Along with Haruto's memories comes an awakening of Rio's dormant power—one that could genuinely improve his circumstances if he learns to use it properly. But before he can figure any of that out, he stumbles into a kidnapping incident involving two princesses from the Bertram Kingdom. Saving the princesses earns Rio a scholarship to the Royal Academy, an elite school for the wealthy and influential. As a destitute orphan suddenly thrust into a world of nobility, Rio quickly discovers that fitting in here is going to be anything but easy.
