Synopsis

Hanae Ashiya's good deed—saving a strange fuzzy demon—backfires spectacularly when the creature latches onto him and starts draining his life force, leaving him bedridden in the school nurse's office for his entire first week of high school. Desperate for a solution, he stumbles across a flyer for an exorcist and tracks down Haruitsuki Abeno, who runs a creepy-looking tearoom called the Mononokean. Abeno reluctantly agrees to help, but when it comes time to pay, Ashiya's broke. So instead of cash, he ends up working at the tearoom to settle his debt. As the two of them tackle supernatural cases together, they start actually getting along, and both begin to see the world—and each other—differently. Along the way, plenty of secrets come to light.
