Synopsis

The story unfolds in Fuyuki City, an ordinary Japanese town that's secretly home to a brutal hidden war. Seven powerful sorcerers called "Masters" summon legendary warriors known as "Servants" to fight to the death, with the winner earning the Holy Grail—an artifact said to grant any wish. Most people have no idea this war even exists or what it really is, but this year, it's about to start again. Our protagonist is Emiya Shirou, a orphan who lost his parents in a fire and was taken in by a man claiming to be a sorcerer. Inspired by his adoptive father, Shirou dedicated himself to learning magic, but he had zero talent for it. He could barely master a single type of sorcery, and his adoptive father has long since passed away. Now he's stuck being a sorcerer with virtually no real skills or knowledge to his name. Everything changes when Shirou accidentally summons Saber during the start of the Holy Grail War. She's supposedly the strongest Servant anyone could possibly get—and he's the least qualified Master imaginable.
