Synopsis

Aoi Shirase lost her brother to the military, and her childhood friend Shuutarou Kurusu was the only one there to help her through it. When he gets drafted to escort some dangerous cargo, she begs him to come back alive. He promises he will—but he doesn't. Unable to accept that he's gone, Aoi holds onto the belief that Shuutarou might still be out there somewhere, since they never found his body. What Aoi doesn't know is that Shuutarou was attacked and turned into a vampire. The military scoops him up for a special unit called Code Zero, where he and other monsters hunt down supernatural threats to Tokyo. As he works these missions, he keeps running into Aoi. Turns out she's naturally drawn to vampires—which isn't helping things, especially since she's now investigating them as a reporter. Shuutarou wants to look out for her from the shadows, but he can't tell her the truth about what he's become. The real problem, though? She's spent all this time wishing they'd never been separated in the first place.
