Shinji Ikari's got a pretty good thing going in New-Tokyo 3—hanging out with his tight friend group, which includes his pushy childhood friend Asuka, the laid-back Touji and Kensuke, student council president Hikari, and the weird but charming Kaworu. Life's simple enough until transfer student Rei Ayanami shows up and throws everything into chaos. Suddenly there's love triangles everywhere, crushes being confessed left and right, and the whole dynamic shifts.
