Joseph Chou grew up in Korea watching Japanese anime, which got him interested in working in entertainment. He joined Warner Home Entertainment around the time The Animatrix was gaining traction, and when that project unexpectedly took off, he moved into a leadership role overseeing new animation initiatives for the studio.
Even after leaving Warner, his influence stuck around—projects like Batman: Gotham Knight came together partly because of groundwork he'd helped lay. Over his career, he's collaborated with heavy hitters like director John Woo and animator Shinji Aramaki, as well as American industry figures like ADV founder John Ledford.
More recently, he's been producing the live-action Evangelion movie.
