Maika Takai got her start in voice acting through a pretty straightforward route—she auditioned for a role in Minori Scramble! at ufotable's fourth Machi Asobi event, which happened to be held in her hometown of Tokushima back in 2010. She landed the part and that was basically her entry into seiyuu work.
She formally trained at Mausu Promotion's training school starting in 2012, then officially signed with the agency in 2014.
