Toshio Masuda was a Japanese film director who spent five decades consistently delivering box office hits. He's known for an impressive track record—16 of his films cracked Japan's yearly top ten at the box office, putting him second all-time in that particular metric. During his decade with Nikkatsu between 1958 and 1968, he churned out an astonishing 52 films. The guy clearly knew how to make movies people wanted to watch.
