Born Giancarlo Pasquini on February 21, 1963, Dave Rodgers is an Italian songwriter, composer, and producer who's become a legend in Japanese pop and electronic music.

He's best known for churning out massive hits throughout the '80s and '90s. His own tracks like "Space Boy" and "Music for the People" (the latter also famously covered by V6) showcase his knack for catchy, high-energy production. Beyond his solo work, Rodgers has written for huge names—Namie Amuro's "Try Me," Neo's "Go Go Money," Powerful T's "Original Sin"—and collaborated with Tetsuya Komuro on the iconic "Get Wild."

What really cemented his cult status among a specific crowd: several of his songs landed in the Initial D anime and video games, where they've become inseparable from drifting Toyotas and late-night mountain runs. Fans still associate his work with that era of Japanese street racing culture.
