Ryuu Fujisaki is a Japanese mangaka from Mutsu, Aomori Prefecture. He's best known for Hoshin Engi, a series that defined much of his career, though he's worked across a wide range of genres throughout his time in manga.
Fujisaki broke into the industry in 1990 with Worlds, his professional debut. Early on, he made a strong impression—he won both the 39th and 40th Tezuka Awards, establishing himself as a promising young talent. Beyond Hoshin Engi, his other notable works include Psycho+, Dramatic Irony, Sakuratetsu Taiwahen, and Waq Waq. More recently, he adapted Ono Fuyumi's novel into the manga Shiki, which gave fans a different kind of horror-tinged story compared to his earlier fantasy work.
