Victor Frankenstein is best known as the creator of Frankenstein—or rather, the creature that would become known by that name. He was a natural philosopher consumed by an obsession: crafting the perfect human being, something as close to God's work as possible. Like Caster of Black, he dreamed of creating Adam and Eve, though where Caster saw that act as a path to Eden, Victor simply wanted to prove he could make something ideal.
He poured two years into assembling a patchwork of dead flesh, driven by the vision of birthing "a wise and beautiful human being, perfect in every way." When he actually succeeded in animating it, the reality horrified him. The result was a monster—repulsive and defective in every way he'd imagined. What made it worse, in his mind, wasn't just the appearance: the creature lacked emotions, and to Victor, a living thing without feelings was fundamentally broken, barely alive at all.
He tore it apart in panic and fled, trying to put the whole nightmare behind him. But his creation wasn't finished. She repaired herself and hunted him down to Geneva, Switzerland, where she confronted him with a desperate plea: create a companion for her, another being like herself. Victor refused. He wouldn't repeat his mistake.
