Bounty:
Crocodile runs Baroque Works, a shadowy organization built on assassination and espionage. As a member of the Shichibukai, he uses the group to orchestrate a rebellion across Alabasta—his goal being to reach the Poneglyph hidden in the kingdom's palace. He's convinced the stone will point him toward Pluton, an ancient weapon he desperately wants to control and use to build military dominance.
His plans fall apart when Luffy defeats him. The World Government strips his Shichibukai status and throws him in prison.
Crocodile's power comes from eating the Suna Suna no Mi, a Devil Fruit that lets him manipulate sand and transform into it entirely, making him nearly impossible to damage with conventional attacks. Creator Eiichiro Oda has mentioned that Crocodile's bounty would've been more than double what it was if he hadn't joined the Shichibukai—his original bounty before that deal was 81,000,000.
