Mikio Kawata (河田美紀男)
Mikio is the younger brother of Masashi Kawata, his senior and fellow Sannoh player. As a freshman, he's already making an impact on the team despite being brand new to the sport—which says something about his natural talent. Fans often note that he's the tallest high schooler in the entire series, a physical advantage that definitely doesn't hurt when you're just starting out.
Like other standout freshmen in the story, Mikio has proven he can actually contribute meaningful minutes, even if he's still learning the ropes. Having his older brother on the same squad probably helps too.
