Legrange was an Alliance vice admiral who commanded the 11th Fleet. He's mostly remembered for his role in the National Salvation Military Council's coup against the Alliance government—he was one of the military figures backing the takeover. When Yang Wen-li mobilized forces to restore the previous government, Legrange led the 11th Fleet against him in battle. It didn't go well. Yang was the better commander, and the 11th Fleet couldn't hold its own. Recognizing the fight was lost, Legrange took his own life rather than accept defeat.
