Shinku is the fifth Rozen Maiden doll and the first one fans meet in the series. She's basically a Victorian aristocrat through and through—uptight, formal, and obsessed with tea, servants, and saying "What?" in that particular snobbish way of hers. She dishes out casual violence to Jun (her medium) without much guilt, though she frames it as discipline and mentorship. Cold as she seems on the surface, Shinku genuinely cares about her sisters and Jun, and she's surprisingly the most level-headed presence in Jun's house when things get chaotic.
Her big thing is perfectionism taken to an unhealthy extreme. Father put so much work into creating her that she's developed this obsessive need to become Alice, which ties directly into her greatest weakness—the fear of messing up. When that fear kicks in, her cool facade crumbles. The Alice Game itself bothers her deeply; she hates the idea of turning her sisters into lifeless "junk" just to win, and she doesn't believe there should have to be a way to become Alice through violence. She's convinced there's another path.
Shinku doesn't use the usual honorific suffixes you'd expect in Japanese, which makes her feel even more aloof. Ironically, despite being relatively young for a Rozen Maiden, the others treat her like the big sister and respect her as a serious threat. She's got a weird soft spot too—an almost obsessive love for the puppet detective Kun Kun that she'd never openly admit is cute. Jun once talked her down from an argument just by showing her a Kun Kun doll.
In a fight, she's legitimately one of the strongest dolls. Her rose petal attacks are incredibly flexible—she can spread them wide or compress them into shields. She also carries a cane she uses like a sword, and has time-reversal magic that's handy for, say, fixing Jun's windows after the twins wreck them. She hates cats because one nearly ate her wind-up key years ago.
Father clearly favored her; he gave her a special brooch with his image when she was made, which Suigintou destroyed out of jealousy. Shinku was runner-up in both Saimoe 2005 and 2007.
