Rald is a small panda Jewelpet with dark green jewel eyes, dark green jewel necklace, a dark pink waistcoat, and a pink and yellow striped hat. He's known for being surprisingly large compared to other Jewelpets—by later seasons, he's roughly double the size of his earlier appearances, making him one of the biggest around.
His story varies wildly depending on which series you're watching. In the original Jewelpet, he's one of the Jewelpets stranded in the human world. After Diana curses Rinko's parents into constant bickering, Rald shows up to restore their love and becomes their partner.
Jewelpet Twinkle brings him back for the New Year's episode, where he comes to the human world looking for his own magical partner to study with. Akari finds him and tries keeping him under wraps, but he's too much trouble during her school's festival prep.
By Jewelpet Sunshine, he's a Plum class student with a fearsome reputation—though it turns out everyone's just struggling not to pet him because he's so adorable. He's incredibly popular and sits at the back of the classroom.
Jewelpet Kira Deco gives him a darker twist. He lives isolated on the outskirts of Jewel Town, can't speak, and grows to massive, destructive sizes when he feels lonely. He seriously injured the KiraDeco 5 because of this, and briefly became Luna's father.
In Jewelpet Happiness, he forms a Magic Gem with Apel Yamada. He mostly fades into the background after that.
