Lettuce is a sweet but painfully shy eighth-grader who speaks formally to pretty much everyone, even family. She's clumsy and a bit ditsy, but comes from an incredibly supportive home—her parents Yomogi and Eizaburou were always telling her she'd eventually find real friends. She does have "friends" at school (called "The Three Beckies" in English), though they're basically just bullies and she hasn't told them about her secret life as a Mew.
She's got distinctive dark green hair in long braids, blue eyes behind thin glasses, and a sweet face. Like the other Mews, she wears a green dress and apron to work.
When transformed, her hair becomes a lighter shade of green and she ditches the glasses. She gains a green bodysuit with white lace trim, arm and leg garters, a green choker holding her Mew Pendant, and—most noticeably—long white antennae that stretch all the way down her body. Her Mew Mark is on her chest with curves that look like a fish.
Lettuce got her powers from finless porpoise DNA, so underwater she can transform her legs into a tail when she has Mew Aqua, which makes her a seriously strong swimmer. She was the third girl recruited into the team and was initially terrified of using her abilities, but Ichigo and Mint's encouragement helped her build confidence. She doesn't like fighting unless it means protecting her friends. She also makes dolls as a hobby and has a younger brother named Uri.
Her favorite foods are shortcakes, grapes, and stewed dishes. She can't stand shiitake mushrooms.
