Gordes comes from the Musik family, a once-prestigious house of alchemists whose skills supposedly matched the Einzberns back in the day. By the time Gordes came around, though, their magical bloodline had weakened significantly—weak enough that they had to merge with the Yggdmillennia organization just to stay relevant. His parents never let him forget how humiliating that was. They spent his entire childhood hammering home stories about the family's glorious alchemical past, constantly reminding him of what they'd lost. Now in his mid-thirties, Gordes can't really tell the difference between those old family legends and actual reality anymore. He's lived so long on pride in a legacy that no longer exists that he's become almost delusional about it.
During the Great Holy Grail War, he served as the Master of Saber.
