A ranking non-commissioned officer aboard the Earth Alliance warship Archangel and one of the handful of original crew members who made it through the attack on Heliopolis. Neumann stepped up as the ship's pilot after that initial assault, and while he tends to stay in the background—outshone by more charismatic officers—he proved his worth when things got really bad. When the Archangel got locked down at the space fortress Artemis, he was the one who took charge and got them out. Quiet and all business, he's the type who doesn't seek attention but shows up when it matters.
