Zakuro Fujiwara is the last of the five Mew Mews to join the team. She first shows up early in the series helping rescue Lettuce from bullies, but it's not until later that Mint spots her in a magazine and realizes who she really is. When they finally meet properly, Zakuro seems nice enough at first—until she finds out what they actually do. She straight-up rejects them after that. Kish, sensing an opportunity, targets her specifically because she's isolated from the group. The other Mew Mews bail her out during the fight, and Zakuro decides they're worth an exception to her rule. She agrees to join.
As a Mew Mew, Zakuro's infused with Gray Wolf DNA, giving her a tail and ears in transformation. She fights using a whip.
Off the clock, she's a working professional model—and a really good one. Mint is absolutely obsessed with her, gushing about her "long, glossy, raven hair," "dark, intelligent, yet sensitive eyes," and her "long, strong and thin legs." She's clearly got serious star quality. She's also surprisingly down-to-earth; during an audition, she helps coach the other Mew Mews when they're working undercover. She's well-traveled and fluent in five languages.
The anime gives her a fuller backstory. She's estranged from her family and left home two years before the series starts. She's also portrayed as Christian—you'll see her wearing a cross and attending church. Junko Noda voices her in the Japanese version. The English dub (Mew Mew Power) changes her name to Renée Roberts, removes the religious elements, and brings in Mollie Weaver as her voice.
