Garnet is a Persian cat who represents Love. She's part of a trio with Ruby and Sapphie, and she's easily the fashionista of the group.
Physically, she's got pink fur with a white chest fluff and distinctive pointed ears. Her eyes are literally made of garnets, and she accessorizes with a red ribbon headpiece and a pink jewel necklace.
Personality-wise, Garnet's got serious attitude. She's sassy, tough, loves pink and cute things, and has zero patience for jerks. Though her characterization has shifted across the different series—toned down in Twinkle, ramped back up in Sunshine, and reimagined as more of a wealthy, high-maintenance type in Kira Deco—that core boldness and style sense has stayed consistent. In Happiness, she's portrayed as more of a hardworker.
Beyond magic, Garnet's real talent is fashion. She has an eye for what works on people and can put together outfits with impressive instinct. Sometimes this fashion obsession takes over her whole personality. In Sunshine, she even shows off sewing skills and picks up part-time work at the Strawberry Cafe.
Magically speaking, she started at Glass Class with a rough 50% success rate, eventually climbing to Crystal Class. She can use a miniaturized Jewel Stick solo or team up with the others to summon Jewelpets from Jewel Land. She's also got a Jewel Pod—decked out with gems in Kira Deco—which she uses to cast spells.
Garnet technically appeared in the very first episode when all the Jewelpets got turned into charms to rest in the Dream Forest, but got separated from the group when the charms scattered into the human world. Her actual debut happens in Episode 2. Minami finds Garnet's charm materializing from her tears while she's freaking out about confessing to her crush, Hisashi Miyamoto. Ruby explains that Garnet's magic is tied to love, so they transform her back into her pet form. Garnet's first reaction? Pure disdain—Minami's sweaty, so she bolts.
The group tracks her down to a tree, where Minami eventually convinces her by reminding Garnet how she'd helped her in kindergarten. When Minami brings Garnet home and shows her a bedroom absolutely covered in pink, Garnet's sold. She agrees to help, magic happens, and Miyamoto shows up to eat okonomiyaki and officially join the team.
