Reg is a robot disguised as a young boy, though nobody—including himself—knows his actual age or where he came from. His memories before meeting Riko in the Abyss's First Layer are completely blank. Riko named him after a dog she owned.
Built tough, Reg's body is surprisingly light for its size and can withstand serious damage. His arms stretch out to 40 meters and each one houses an Incinerator—essentially a high-powered beam cannon that can incinerate almost anything. The catch? Firing it once drains his entire energy supply and knocks him unconscious for two hours and ten minutes. He treats it as a last resort.
What makes Reg genuinely unusual is that his artificial body appears to make him immune to the Curse of the Abyss, something almost no other intelligent being can claim. This has earned him nicknames like "Aubade" or "Treasure of the Deep."
For all his combat capabilities, Reg is genuinely timid and lacks confidence. He blushes constantly and cries when stressed. Unlike Riko, he panics under pressure and usually needs her to make the tough calls when things get dangerous.
