Gaius
Gaius is basically the definition of an overachiever. He dominated magic using a first-type emblem—reached the absolute peak of what was possible with it—but that wasn't enough for him. He wanted more power, so he pulled off the pretty extreme move of using reincarnation magic to get himself reborn with a fourth-type emblem instead.
