Waldfeld commanded ZAFT forces occupying the African city of Banadiya, where he earned the nickname "Desert Tiger" thanks to his track record on the front lines. He became a serious headache for both the Archangel and the Desert Dawn resistance—the kind of opponent who didn't just direct fights from a command center but regularly left his flagship Lesseps to get a closer look at what was actually happening on the ground.
What makes him memorable is how relaxed he stays in the thick of it. Nothing much rattles him. Coffee does—specifically exotic varieties, which he enjoys debating. He's also surprisingly invested in the finer points of kebab sauce composition. And then there's his weird competitive thing with whoever's piloting the Strike Gundam. Matching wits with that pilot seems to be one of the few things that actually engages him.
Gundam SEED Destiny
After the war wrapped up, Waldfeld followed a similar path to Murrue Ramius and relocated to Orb, where he settled into something closer to a normal life. He never fully checked out though—he's maintained his own intelligence operation to keep tabs on global affairs as things have gotten messier. The years and his combat injuries have taken their toll, but he's still got it as a soldier.
