Aaroniero stands out as Espada #9 and a rare Gilian-class Hollow—basically the last surviving member of the original Espada lineup. His whole thing is that he can devour other Hollows and absorb their abilities wholesale. Over his lifetime, he's consumed more than 33,650 Hollows, which is. a lot. One of the notable ones was Metastacia, a Hollow that had previously taken over Kaien Shiba's body back when Kaien was an assistant captain in the 13th Division.
Aaroniero weaponized this. He shapeshifted into Kaien specifically to manipulate Rukia Kuchiki, using the guise of her dead friend to try and force her into killing her own allies as some twisted form of atonement. Rukia saw through it pretty quickly though—she knew that wasn't really Kaien—and fought back. When he dropped the act and revealed his true form, Glotonería, he managed to stab her with Kaien's Nejibana. The hit landed hard emotionally; Rukia felt the weight of her past failure, that she couldn't save Kaien back then.
But she held onto something stronger: the fact that Kaien's heart actually lived on inside her. In the end, Rukia took him down by impaling one of his two heads and destroying the stasis tank that housed them both.
