Jinta Yadomi's been a shut-in ever since a tragic accident destroyed his childhood friend group years ago. He's basically given up on school and everything else, too weighed down by guilt to care. Then one day, Menma—his dead friend—shows up as a ghost, and suddenly he can't ignore what happened anymore. Menma's stuck in limbo because she has some unfinished wish, but here's the problem: she can't remember what it is. She's convinced that getting the whole group back together is the only way to figure it out. So now Jinta has to track down his estranged friends and somehow get them to believe him about a ghost they can't see. Not exactly an easy task.
