Saiyuuki Gaiden
Five hundred years before the main story, a golden-eyed heretic child is brought to Heaven and placed under the care of Konzen, a minor god and nephew of the goddess Kanzeon Bosatsu. Konzen names the child Goku, who quickly befriends two other minor deities: the easygoing Marshal Tenpou and the flirtatious General Kenren. He also encounters Nataku, a mysterious boy who appears to be his age and holds the title of War Prince. Despite finding happiness in his new home, Goku's existence as a heretic makes him vulnerable. Powerful forces in Heaven see both him and Nataku as potential pawns in a larger game—one aimed at overthrowing Heaven's ruler.
