Synopsis

Tomoko Kuroki is the opposite of cool. She's plain-looking, socially inept, and spends her nights glued to video games. But here's the thing—nobody wants to be popular as badly as she does. She's constantly coming up with what she thinks are genius schemes to finally crack the social code. Whether it's copying personalities from anime or dropping money on expensive underwear, she's convinced these moves will get her where she needs to be. Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! follows Tomoko through her daily battle with social anxiety, and it's weirdly endearing despite being absolutely ridiculous. The show somehow manages to be pathetic and funny at the same time, making her struggles feel strangely relatable.
