Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho
It's 526, and while everyone knows witches are real and practice magic, nobody actually understands how it works. The story centers on a half-human, half-beast mercenary—creatures humans derisively call "fallen beasts." He's always wanted to be fully human, so when he crosses paths with a witch, everything changes. "Want a human form? Then work for me," she tells him. The witch calls herself Zero and is on the hunt for a stolen grimoire—her grimoire, to be exact. The Book of Zero supposedly holds incredible magical secrets powerful enough to topple the world if it fell into the wrong hands. Since the mercenary desperately wants his human transformation, he agrees to help her search for it, even though witches are basically the last thing he wants to be around. It's a story about an arrogant sorceress and a surprisingly decent monster forced to work together.
