Tsuji Masaki
Birth place: Nagoya
Tsuji Masaki is a Japanese screenwriter who's worked across TV anime, live-action series, and mystery novels. He was most prolific from the 1960s through the 1980s, turning out scripts for major studios like Mushi Production, Toei Animation, and Tokyo Movie Shinsha.
His resume reads like a greatest-hits list of classic anime. He wrote for Osamu Tezuka adaptations—Astro Boy, Jungle Emperor, Princess Knight, and Unico—alongside Go Nagai's wild shows like Devilman, Cutie Honey, and Dororon Enma-kun. He also handled scripts for Yumiko Oshima's Wata no Kuni Hoshi and the motorsports anime Arrow Emblem Grand Prix no Taka.
The industry took notice of his contributions over the decades. In 2008, Tsuji received a Special Award at the 13th Animation Kobe in recognition of his writing.
