Ángel Corpa is a Spanish singer from Barajas de Melo in Cuenca province. He's best known for founding Jarcha in Huelva in 1972, a band that became crucial to understanding Spanish music during the Transition era. Over two decades with the group, he wrote much of their material across fourteen albums, developing a distinctive approach that set Spanish poetry to music—drawing on works by García Lorca, Miguel Hernández, Blas de Otero, and Rafael Alberti. This helped introduce wider audiences to Andalusian musical traditions.
Beyond Jarcha, Corpa collaborated with figures like Salvador Távora and took on voice acting work, most notably dubbing Frieza for the Spanish release of Dragon Ball Z—a role fans still recognize him for today.
