Monkey Majik is a Japanese-Canadian pop rock band that started in Sendai back in 2000. The group's pretty straightforward: two Canadian brothers, Maynard and Blaise Plant, both handling vocals and guitar, alongside Japanese drummer Tax and bassist Dick.

The band's known for blending Eastern and Western pop rock influences, which is why they've picked up the "hybrid band" label. That fusion is kind of their whole thing—it's what makes them stand out in the scene.

Monkey Majik is signed to Binyl Records (an Avex subsidiary) and managed by Edwards Entertainment Group. Their music has gotten serious mainstream exposure over the years through TV shows, commercials, and film placements. In fact, they were tapped as Goodwill Ambassadors for the 80th anniversary of Japanese-Canadian relations, which says something about how they're viewed culturally.
