Hase Arihiro was a Tokyo-born voice actor best known for voicing Ichijyo Hikaru in the original Macross series. Born April 22, 1965, he was the son of fellow voice actor Hase Sanji and worked with both Sigma Club and Production MThree during his career.
He maintained a close friendship with Macross co-star Iijima Mari, the pop singer who voiced Lynn Minmay, and regularly attended her concerts throughout his life. In 2005, years after his death, Iijima reprised her role for the ADV Films English dub of Macross and dedicated the release to his memory.
Hase died on July 30, 1996, at age 31, shortly after recording for the Macross World Radio Show. He took his own life by jumping from a seventh-story window.
