Synopsis

After losing her mom in an accident, 16-year-old Tooru moves in with her grandfather. When his house needs renovations, she's suddenly without a place to stay. Too embarrassed to ask friends for help and worried about burdening her family, she does the logical thing: pitches a tent in the woods and lives there alone. That plan falls apart pretty quickly when a landslide buries her makeshift home. Yuki Souma—the popular guy from her school—and his cousin Shigure, a successful author, find her in the mess and offer her a place to crash until the renovations are done. Moving in with them seems like the perfect solution, except for one small problem: the Souma family is cursed. Any time a member of the family is hugged by someone of the opposite sex, they transform into a zodiac animal. It's not some cute party trick either—there's a real darkness behind it, connected to the family's past. As Tooru meets more of the Souma clan and starts uncovering the truth about this bizarre curse, she'll need every bit of her kindness and stubborn determination to handle what she's gotten herself into.
