Haru's got that classic Ox duality going on—he's usually easygoing and genuinely nice, but flip a switch and he becomes this edgy, mean version of himself that he calls his "black" side. The weird part is he's aware of what's happening when it takes over, but he's basically powerless to stop it. Whether he apologizes afterward or just shrugs it off depends on his mood. Fans often note his complete obliviousness to his own behavior during these episodes.
He's also notorious for having absolutely terrible navigation skills. He once got lost for three days in another town just trying to track down Kyo so they could fight—which, honestly, tracks with how obsessed he is with constantly pestering Kyo and picking fights with him. There's definitely something affectionate about it though, beneath all the antagonism.
Despite his chaotic energy, Haru's surprisingly protective and genuinely caring when it comes to people he's close to. He's especially devoted to looking out for Yuki, Kisa, and Rin. It's one of those things that makes him endearing despite the "black" Haru incidents.
