Slowbro is a pink, bipedal Pokémon with a tan striped belly, rounded muzzle, and those signature vacant eyes. It's got curled ears, a couple of small teeth poking out, and three clawed fingers per hand. The Shellder clamped onto its tail is gray with a spiral shell, dark spots, spikes, and a grip that won't quit—it literally hangs on with dozens of sharp teeth. Apparently, Shellder developed that spiral shape just to suck more sweetness out of Slowbro's tail. Break off either the tail or the Shellder, and Slowbro reverts straight back to Slowpoke.
The Shellder's poison has numbed Slowbro's pain entirely, which tracks with how lazy and spacey it normally is. That said, something clicks when Shellder bites down—suddenly Slowbro gets inspired and can dish out serious psychic attacks. Despite that potential, it's a pretty chill Pokémon that'd rather not fight. Since it can't fish with its tail anymore, it swims after prey instead and lets Shellder eat the leftovers. You'll find them hanging around ponds, lakes, and shorelines. According to Pokémon Sleep, Slowbro and its Shellder usually sleep on the same schedule, though sometimes Slowbro naps while Shellder's still awake.
Mega Slowbro
When it Mega Evolves, Slowbro gets almost completely swallowed by the Shellder—you only see its head poking out between those massive teeth, plus its arms and white-tipped tail sticking through holes in the shell. It bounces around using its tail as a spring. The Shellder's spikes thin out to just four on the bottom, and the hardness skyrockets; the shell becomes basically unscratchable armor. Slowbro itself doesn't change much internally, but it draws strength from the Shellder's digestive juices. Mega Slowbro can summon water tornadoes in a fight.
Galarian Slowbro
In Galar, things got weird. The Shellder bites Slowbro's arm instead of its tail, triggering a chemical reaction with poison and Galarica Twigs from the original Slowpoke's body. The result is pinker, with purple accents, and the attached Shellder is smaller with a purple stinger-like tip. Here's the kicker: Galarian Slowbro is genuinely dangerous because it attacks indiscriminately, usually because Shellder's unconsciously clamping down hard on the arm. Shellder actually gets blissed out doing this since it absorbs Galarian Slowbro's poison that way. Problem is, sometimes Shellder faints from the poison seeping into it, and then Galarian Slowbro lashes out from the itching. When it faces a real challenge though, it sharpens up fast and gets focused. It fights by yanking on the Shellder's tongue, which fires poisonous liquid from that stinger tip at insane speeds. You can find them in the Coastal Biome at Blueberry Academy's Terarium, where Galar's ecosystem is recreated.
Evolution
Slowbro evolves from Slowpoke and is one of its final forms (the other being Slowking). Galarian Slowbro evolves from Galarian Slowpoke and shares that final-form status with Galarian Slowking.
