Naoshi Kanno, a World War II fighter pilot, got pulled into this fantasy world mid-battle—literally. His plane materialized right as the Drifters' forces were getting hammered by dragons. When those aerial attacks hit him with memories of the Tokyo bombings, something clicked. He couldn't just sit in the cockpit. He decided to jump in and fight the dragons himself, bringing his combat experience from the real world into a conflict he'd never signed up for.
