In Feudal Japan, Edo is being ravaged by giant insects, and the desperate government finally acts by creating the Insect Magistrate Office—basically a task force of elite warriors trained to deal with the infestation. Our protagonist is Jinbee Tsukishima, a young swordsman trying to live up to his father's legacy. Plagued by guilt over a past mistake, he's determined to join the Insect Magistrate Office himself and make amends. On the way, he meets Haru, a kind young woman working at her family's tea house. When she gets attacked, Jinbee steps in to save her—and his heroics land him a spot in the office. Now Jinbee's got to prove he's got what it takes to actually help stem the tide of giant bugs threatening the country. But is this rookie up to the job?
