Naoto Takenaka is a Japanese actor, comedian, singer, and director from Yokohama. He's best known for playing Hideyoshi in the 1999 NHK Taiga drama, though his career spans far beyond that single role—he's appeared in nearly a hundred films and has earned ten Japanese Academy Award nominations. He's won Best Supporting Actor three times: for Shiko funjatta, East Meets West, and Shall we Dansu?. He's married to Midori Kinouchi.
